Swine Flu hits Travis

Swine flue cases confirmed in Travis county and Williamson

Travis County's first case of swine flu — confirmed Monday in a 5-year-old pre-kindergarten student said to be responding well to treatment — reinforces the need for a common-sense response to the spreading virus, health officials said.

Elsewhere Monday, a student with a possible case of swine flu prompted the Pflugerville school district to close Timmerman Elementary School. Leander school district officials elected to keep Bagdad Elementary open after finding a student with a probable case there. And Williamson County reported two probable swine flu cases in residents who were tested about April 27, isolated and treated. Both Williamson County patients have recovered, health officials said Monday.
