California Tax Policy

Texas is beginning to see the influx of people coming from California and the "Rust Belt." In spite of rising unemployment rates, the Texas economy is still stronger than the rest of the country. Texas has a balanced budget that is in the black. The Texas Legislature did not raise the franchise tax nor the sales tax this session. All of these factors make Texas more attractive to the rest of the country.

My wife and I moved here - in part because of the tax climate. Our state and local tax burden in Texas is thousands less that it would have been in the Northeast.
