Illegal aliens cast ballots in Bexar

Election fraud story out of Bexar county: Hundreds of illegal aliens are registered to vote:

Hundreds of illegal immigrants have registered to vote in Bexar County in recent years and dozens of them have actually cast ballots, canceling out the votes of U.S. citizens, 1200 WOAI news will report Thursday morning. Figures obtained by 1200 WOAI news shows 303 illegals successfully registered to vote, and at least 41 cast ballots in various elections.

Perhaps if Strama's proposal were adopted it would cut down on such fraud (see "Strama's Alternative Approach to Voter ID" posted to the Travis Monotor on Thursday, May 31, 2007 at 7:20 PM).

"My proposal," wrote Strama, "would have required election administrators in every county in Texas to conduct an Integrity Audit after each election, and refer any evidence of criminal activity to the Election Integrity Task Force in the prosecutor's office."

Note the phrase, "after each election."

Sure, that will work. After the liberal Democrat wins a close race as a result of the illegals and/or dead who were allowed to vote, the liberal Democrat prosecutor (e.g. Ronnie Earle) will diligently ferret out the fraudulent voters and throw out the fraudulent votes. Right?

I DOUBT IT!

The only way to minimize the likelihood of illegals and dead people voting is by Voter Identification, as per the Voter ID bill Strama said he voted against because HIS proposed alternative approach was not adopted.

You are right.
"They cant cheat if it isnt close" has a inverse point - "Cheating in close races pays." Even close races are rarely contested; few are Sore Losermen like Al Gore, trying to come-from-behind (although a Democrat in Washington played the recoud game and won via bogus recount trickery).

There are recent races, like US Senate race in Louisiana in 1996, where pay to vote (progambling forces in new Orleans) handed a fraudulent victory for the Democrat, Mary Landreiu - she still is in the Senate.

The linked article completely debunks the Democrat talking point that illegal voting is a myth and ballot security is not a legitimate concern. There was a similar story out of Houston about 500 voter registration requests, that ended up getting traced to a single address.

I think the reason we dont have a similar story out of Austin is that we already know the partisan Democrats who run Travis wouldnt investigate anything that would be embarrassing to themselves and the Democrat-friendly Statesman wont dare shame them to look.

Like the scandal with military ballots in 2004. ... Oh, you didn't hear about it (unless James Crabtree came and explained it to you)? You didnt read about it on the front page of the Statesman, how our military citizenry from Travis who were in Iraq never got their ballots on time? yeah, I wonder why.
