Obamacare's "public option" on life support, given DNR order

Public Option looks to be 'off the table'... Sen Conrad on Sunday news shows called it a 'wasted effort', as Team Obama cuts and runs from previous statements demanding it. Of course, since Obama suffers from Cult-of-Personality disorder, a massive flip-flop like this requires an Orwellian rewrite of history- from "(A)ny plan I sign must include an insurance exchange ... including a public option" to calling it "just one sliver" and "not the essential element" of healthcare (oops, health insurance) reform.

Obama is in his heart, for single payer and 'public option' has always been a Trojan Horse for that eventuality:

“I happen to be a proponent of a single payer universal health care program. I see no reason why the United States of America, the wealthiest country in the history of the world, spending 14 percent of its Gross National Product on health care cannot provide basic health insurance to everybody. And that’s what Jim is talking about when he says everybody in, nobody out. A single payer health care plan, a universal health care plan. And that’s what I’d like to see. But as all of you know, we may not get there immediately. Because first we have to take back the White House, we have to take back the Senate, and we have to take back the House.” - Barack Obama, 2002

So much for the Axelrod-spun meme that conservative townhall activism was backfiring. On the contrary, the ambitious Obama agenda has backfired by rousing the sleeping giant of American love for liberty. Team Obama will try to save the ObamaCare patient by amputating controversial elements of it, and the vigorous actions of patriots and freedom-lovers across the nation at Townhalls is alerting Americans that it IS controversial to take away private healthcare choice, health insurance options and centralize and bureaucratize the healthcare system.

Also off the table apparently is the 'death consultation' language. Two ObamaCare outrages down (or at least on life support), but many more to go - Govt approved care board, taxpayer funded abortions, mandates, taxes, Medicaid/Medicare squeeze, coops, etc.
